Day 4 of unemployment

Took a little road trip out to Baby D's shop. After checking a few of his projects he took his CR 250 for a little shake down run. A few years ago he was living in Maui. They ride there dirt bikes in the sugar cane fields over there. He came out the field and was siting on the side a few yards away from the road. When some A$$HOLE in a Toyota Landcruiser yapping away on his cell phone veered off the road and nailed him doing 45+ mph. It dragged Baby D and his bike for a few hundred yards before it stopped. I can still here his Mom screaming over the phone that he was going to die. Obviously he didn't but he did get all fuc%ked up. His arm is still pretty mangled but at least he's still here. He just now got his bike up and going again.

Here's the Challenger Baby D been working on. Tubbed the the rear end and threw some funny gas in the trunk.

Jesse Who ?

It seems to be the "in" thing now to hate on Jesse James. Why ? I have no fuc%ing idea. There is only a few of his bikes I like myself. And I can't stand the paint jobs on all of them. But who the fu&K cares ? I don't have to like them for people to buy them. Jesse has got a lot of young kids wanting to get there hands dirty. The clip below is from one of my favorite chopper programs. Unlike the haters Jesse pays homage to all the builders before him. Jesse is the American dream. Here's a guy who grows up becomes rich, famous and marries a movie star. All that with grease under his fingernails. I love this country !

Peer Pressure Two for Tuesday

Day 2 of unemployment

I woke up this morning and did a little work on my '77. When I got this bike last fall it was a non-runner. The guy I got if from bought it that way and never got it to fire. I got it running rode it for awhile and then started taking it apart to build a chopper. Bought a different bike to do that with and parked this one in the garage. It has some electrical issues so I hard wired in the head and taillight and left the rest of the sh!t alone. I was going to fix the rest today. But after changing out the plugs and taking it for a quick test drive. I saw a break in the rain and said fu%k it and went for a ride. I originally planned just to hit the freeway for a bit and head back. It was running like a champ so I just kept going and got out of the city. I got off the freeway and started hitting back gravel roads. My mind starting clearing and I got a little carried away. It started getting dark and I turned around. The wind picked up and it rained like a mother fuc%ker. I rode in that sh!t for a hour. By the time I got home I was soaked and half frozen to death. I also had a big sh!t eating grin and I feel super relaxed. Damn I love motorcycles.

I guess getting laid off on a Friday it doesn't really sink in till Sunday night. Usually right about now I'm fighting insomnia and thinking about all the sh!t I said I was going to get done on the weekend and never did. I guess I can do that sh!t tomorrow. It's a really fuc%ed up time to get unemployed. My state has one of the highest unemployment rates at 9.9%. Even the sh!t jobs have a line of applicants and there not hiring. Add in the fact I get to check the " have you ever been convicted of a crime" box. And that makes sh!t ten times harder. I don't consider myself a bad guy. I've never stole or beat up women or any other scumbag sh!t. I have protected myself from other men and sometimes that has landed me in court. Here's some fun unemployment facts. we have the highest number of people unemployed since 1964. Last month over half a million people got laid off. That's the biggest amount of people laid off in one month since the 70's.
